Dr. Filiberto Rodriguez-Salinas, MD

is the senior cardiac surgeon in the group. He is Surgeon in Chief of McAllen Heart Surgeons. Over the past twenty-five years, he has performed over 10,000 operations. He has focused on complex coronary bypass, valve repair and replacement, and electrophysiologic surgery for atrial fibrillation. He has a lively interest in quality assurance in cardiac surgery.

 

Dr. Rodriguez's program now at the McAllen Heart Hospital with a mortality rate of less than 1% received the HealthGrades™ Cardiac Surgery Excellence Award for 2008, which was awarded to only four hospitals in Texas. Hospitals receiving this honor were in the top tier of the HealthGrades™ national cardiac surgery ratings and our program at the McAllen Heart Hospital was ranked #1 in the State of Texas for 2008 & 2009.
